Terry Grant McLaughlin
Terry Grant McLaughlin of Valleyview, AB formerly of Tracy, NB passed away on March 28, 2019, at the Valleyview Health Center, at the age of 55 years.
Terry was born October 7, 1963 in Fredericton, NB. He spent his life doing what he loved to do. He took great pride in his work and was undoubtedly one of the most expert equipment operators you could ever meet. No matter how big or small, easy or hard, from one end of the country to the other, you could always count on the man who knew every trick in the book to get the job done with extraordinary results. Terry was a one-of-a-kind man. If you ever had a chance to meet Terry, you would never forget him. Whether it was at work or at home, you could always find him busy doing something, never afraid of getting his hands dirty.
He had the biggest heart, so full of love, the brightest blue eyes, and a smile that could light the darkest room. He loved his life and his family. He loved the water, and being in the boat fishing was his other happy place. He loved to travel and see new things. If you ever got in a vehicle with him, you never knew where you might end up; it was always an adventure.
Terry will be sadly missed and forever loved by his wife Amanda Morgan; children: Teri-Lynn McLaughlin (Tyler) and Marlee McLaughlin; step-children: Mark Harnish, Tiffany Harnish, Kelli Morgan (Austin), Jason Morgan, and Makayla Rideout; grandchildren: Joseph, Logan, Brady, Aiden, Justus and Jordan, as well as Bentley, Jaden and Baby X who have yet to make their appearance; sisters Angela and Brenda McLaughlin; special nieces Charity and Selena Hanselpacker (Brandon); special friends: Sheldon and Susan Strydhorst, Francis (Froggy) Lemieux, Shawn (Mickey) Doucet, Mike Buchanan and Bev Dietzen, and Scotty and Robyn Cartwright; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew and friends.
Terry was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Effie McLaughlin and his beloved brother Steven McLaughlin.
Cremation took place on April 2, 2019. A small Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 1:00pm, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Valleyview (4914 49 St.).
Family will spread his ashes at a later date at home in New Brunswick.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors, specialists and teams of nurses from the Grande Prairie ICU, the Cross Cancer Institute and the Valleyview Health Center for everything you did to keep Terry comfortable. A very special thank you goes out to Dr. Jacobs from the Valleyview Health Center. You were there in the beginning and all the way to the end. You went above and beyond the call of duty with your kind words and loving nature and we are forever grateful to you for being there with us through this time and taking remarkable care of Terry.
