We are deeply saddened to announce that Rosemary Crocker (nee Doran) died suddenly on April 8, 2019, at the age of 84. She was a strong, beautiful woman who met the love of her life, her husband, Bert Crocker, when she was twenty-one; they remained in love all their lives. She will now be reunited with Bert, who passed away in 2017.
Rosemary is also predeceased by her parents, Gertrude and William Doran, by her sister Lorraine and her brother Basil. She will be forever loved and missed by her children: Reg, Wanda, Sue (Wayne), Steve (Lisa) and Tom (Lisa); her grandchildren: Shannon, Emily (Jared), Eva, Theo, Max, Jack, and Alison; great‑grandchildren: Leo and Hunter; brother Bill Doran (Dana) and sisters Helen, Barbara, Bernice (Gerard) and Regina (Mario).
Rosemary balanced a rewarding family life with a long and successful career in real estate. She had a strong aesthetic sense and a talent for envisioning the décor, interior design and renovation potential of any house and how to turn a living space into a functional and warm home for her clients. She became one of the city’s top sellers of real estate and an award‑winning agent. She loved her job and excelled in it at a time when the real estate industry was a very male‑dominated environment.
Though she had a rich professional life, Rosemary cared most deeply about family and friends. She and Bert created their own beautiful home and provided unconditional love and support to their children, always attentive to their needs. This unconditional love was also extended to her children’s partners and to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosemary took tremendous delight in the company of children throughout her life and celebrated each new step and accomplishment. She cherished small moments, such as taking a two-year-old grandchild into her garden to pick strawberries on a sunny afternoon. Rosemary enjoyed close relationships with her siblings, whom she loved with all her heart, and was known for her loyalty to friends, especially the late Alice Mallard. She particularly appreciated walks in the park with her sisters and lunch with friends, and she absolutely loved to shop.
Rosemary was a very spiritual person and attended mass frequently. She volunteered in her community, especially with St. Vincent de Paul and Corpus Christi Catholic Church. It was her faith and her particular brand of personal grace that helped her cope with grief when Bert passed away. She chose to travel, at that time, with her daughter Susan and other family members, determined to see the world before she died.
She led her children by example: her life was full of compassion for others, generosity and a deep appreciation for beauty. A rapacious reader of literature and a magnificent storyteller, she knew how to turn an ordinary moment into a marvelous story laced with humour and wisdom. Rosemary was known for her impeccable style, quick wit and ability keep a dinner party in constant bursts of laughter. She was fiercely independent, an astute and generous judge of character, intellectually alive and curious. She led a full and rich life, and though she will be profoundly missed, her indelible presence is felt in the lives of her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to have known her grace and kindness.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation to take place on Monday, April 15, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Funeral service to take place at Caul’s Chapel on Tuesday, April 16, at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers or donations to the Corpus Christi Parish food bank gratefully accepted.

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Rosemary Crocker 2019..
