Obituary of Rita M. Butt
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, March 30, 2019, Rita M. Butt of Carbonear, age 88 years. Predeceased by husband: Edward, 2005; sons: Shawn, 2000; and John, 2018; parents: Silas and Amy Smith; brother: Arthur; sister: Hazel. Leaving to mourn, one daughter: Judy (Albert) Harris, Bristol’s Hope; four sons: Raymond (Valerie), Dildo, David (Dorothy), Edberg, AB, Donald (Patricia), Carbonear, and Gary (Doreen), Leduc, AB; daughter-in-law: Gloria Butt, Riverhead, Hr. Grace; fourteen grandchildren: Andrew (Allison), Jessica, Stephen (Tara), Susan (Jason), Kimberley, Lesley (Liam), Dawn, Samantha, Daniel, Megan, Nicole (Matthew), Amanda (Matt) and her mother: Marilyn, Matthew, and Bradley (Kaela); ten great-grandchildren: Isaac, Luke, Julia, Isabella, Maggie, Katie, Jack, Aubree, Gavin, and Brock; one brother: Victor (Marina) Smith, Bishop’s Cove; one sister: Viola Penney, Carbonear; brother-in-law: Graham (Joan) Butt, New Harbour; sister-in-law: Pauline Butt, Corner Brook; special friend: Loretta McGrath, Placentia; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Monday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Tuesday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear.
