Peacefully at her home on Thursday April 25, 2019 at the age of 95 years, surrounded by the love of her family. Nancy Scanes (nee Hathaway) of Pembroke beloved wife of the late Norman Keith Scanes. Loved mother of Rosemarie Zadow (John) and Andy Scanes (Cathy) both of Pembroke and predeceased by infant daughter Carol. Loving grandmother to Kelly Brown, Dean Zadow, Shelley McQuirter, Denise Hubert, Tammy Kennedy and Heidi Scanes and great grandchildren Matthew, Erin, Hilary, Ryan, Scott, Jennifer, Santana, Tory, Taylor, Tyler and the late Paisley and great great grandson Hank. Dear sister of Marie, Edna, David (Mary) and predeceased by sister Peggy (Ken) and brothers John and Jim. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Walter and Ivy (nee Roe) Hathaway. Friends are invited to share their memories of Nancy with her family during visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Monday 7 – 9 p.m. and Tuesday 9:30 – 11 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday April 30th at 11:00 a.m. Interment Wesley United Cemetery.
