With saddened hearts, the family of Marina Sullivan, beloved wife, mother, sister, friend, and teacher announce her sudden passing at home on April 20, 2019. Marina passed away in the arms of her loving husband and life partner, Jeff Sullivan and with her boys. She was only 56. Leaving to celebrate her wonderful life and generous soul are the four loves of her life – her husband of 34 years, Jeff, and her three sons, Justin, Jeffrey, and Marcus. Her family also are left bereft of her presence – her sisters, Bernadette (Martin Tessier), Vina (John McClintock), her brother Bernie, and her mother, Marina Broderick; sisters-in-law, Betty Lahey (Pat), and Nancy Elkins (John); brother-in-law, Carl Sullivan; her nieces and nephews who loved her: Olivia and Daniel Tessier, Victoria McClintock, Javelin and Gage Broderick, Michael and Andrew Lahey, Zachary and Jacob Elkins, and Mackenzie, Alexander and Nicolas Sullivan; special friends, Yvonne Sullivan and Mary Broderick; aunts, uncles, cousins and a large circle of friends also mourn her passing. Predeceased by her loving father, Bernard F. Broderick, and the parents she gained in marriage whom she loved, Angus and Minnie Sullivan.
Marina always had a smile and a kind word for everyone, and her generosity and compassion knew no bounds. She volunteered in her community of Bauline and sang with a pure and generous voice at the All Saints Anglican Church in Pouch Cove. She loved to share a cup of tea with her ACW ladies, but it was her own collection of teacups at home that she so lovingly filled for her family and friends at any and every opportunity. Her passion for decoration and gardening reflected her keen eye for beauty, and in turn, she saw the beauty in everything and everyone.
Marina’s second passion was travelling the world and exploring everything it could teach her. She loved to visit the sights, but she also took time to talk to people, and they always responded to her. She had a passion for airports, and her go-go-go attitude was a force to be reckoned with.
Marina was a gift not only to her family and friends, but to everyone who knew her. Please join us in remembering the life of a truly wonderful person who will always be loved and missed – it’s hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember.
