It is with heavy hearts that the family of Larry Shank announces his passing on Friday , March 29th, 2019, in his 83rd year. Loving, devoted and cherished husband of Deanna (Pigeau) for 61 years. Adored and loving father of Michael (Paulette Chretien), Christine and Brian (Natalia Efremova). Pépère will be forever missed and loved by his grandchildren, Devin Shank (Amber Blackwell), Tessa Shank (Darin Scott), Perry Wall (Stef Lukie), Gillian Wall, and Kirill Loginov. Left to treasure his memory is his sister, Mignonne McAvoy (late Dave). Beloved brother-in-law of Jimmy Pigeau (Margaret), Wayne Pigeau (Rachel), Linda Gosson, Terry Pigeau (Mary Jo) and his many precious nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Delphis and Dorilda (Danis) Shank, brothers Fortunat and Florian (late Gaetane) sisters-in-law Joyce Roy (late Gerard), Geraldine Henri (late Fern), and brothers-in-law Mike Gosson and Daniel Pigeau (late Louise). Larry worked as an electrician at Weyerhaeuser for 42 years until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed coaching minor hockey and made life long friendships with his players. He treasured the memories and made a lasting impression on the lives he touched. After retirement, Larry’s flower gardens were his passion. Every Spring, he took great pride in planning, planting and nurturing his flowers to watch them bloom in beauty. His family asks that a tree or flowers be planted this Spring in his memory. Larry loved to curl, fish and spend time his autumns at the hunt camp with his sons and grandson. He was a caring friend to many and will forever be missed. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Theoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls, Saturday April 6th, 2019, after 9:30 a.m. A chapel service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations to the West Nipissing General Hospital (Hummingbird Hospice) or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
