It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a dear father, brother and uncle John MacIntosh of Sydney Mines on April 19, 2019 at the age of 77, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
John was born in Florence and was the son of the late Hugh and Catherine (Dickson) MacIntosh. He was a member of Wilson United Church, Florence.
John was employed by Baddeck Home Hardware for many years.
He is survived by his daughter Nicole (Chris) Nicholson and precious grandchildren Jacob and Eve. John also leaves behind sisters, Ruby Squarey, Rodney (Ralph) King, Brother, Tommy MacIntosh, brother in law Chess ton, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents John was predeceased by his wife Lorraine (Cameron), bothers, Hugh, Everett, Alvin, Robert, Melrose, Donald, and twin brother Daniel. Sisters, Olga, Lois, Margaret, Althea, and Mae Audrey.
A special thank you to all the staff and residents at the Minors Manor, Sydney Mines where John resided.
In keeping with John’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, graveside burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Minors Memorial Manor.
