John Fraser
1942-2019
It is with broken hearts that
we announce the passing of John Albert Fraser, age 76 of Westmount, on
Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital,
Sydney.
Born September 6, 1942, in Halifax, John moved to Cape Breton
in 1946, where he would eventually marry and raise his
family.
He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, grandfather
and great-grandfather. John was a very private man. He loved spending
time with his family, whom he adored, especially his grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
John will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth
(Brown) Fraser; four sons, John (Ann), Paul (Verna), Scott (Freda) and
Kevin (Crystal); two daughters, Darlene (Larry) and Lisa (Jamie); his
mother, Jean Marie (Lemire) Fraser; and his sister, Shirley, as well
as 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Albert
Fraser.
At John’s request, there will be no visitation.
Funeral service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday,
April 18 at 11 a.m., with Mr. Gary Grant officiating. Interment will
take place at a later date.
Special thanks to the staff in the palliative care unit at
the Cape Breton Regional Hospital who took such great care of
John.
