On April 6, 2019 Bradley Wayne McColgan made the decision to end his struggle with depression and his many painful thoughts and feelings. Brad was only 38 years old and in his short time he brought so much love and laughter to people near and far. Brad was most recently employed with Fundy Fencing where he worked with an amazing group of guys and learned a great deal. He had many hobbies which included online gaming, Lego, geocaching and had recently taken up bowling again.
Brad leaves behind two children Desmond and Dean whom he felt immense pride and love for and his wife Jaclyn – they were the best of friends and shared a most bizarre sense of humour.
In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his parents Karen (Leo Hebert) Godin and Wayne (Gisele) McColgan; grandparents Marguerite Godin and Ilene McColgan; father and mother-in-law Ralph and Tammy Balemans; step-brothers Mark (Nicole) McDonough, Neil (Tricia Reed) McDonough and Eric (Kelly Nice) McDonough; brother-in-law Jason (Kerry) Balemans; sister-in-law Robin (Mark Forestell) Balemans as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and the many friends he made on-line who supported and laughed with him. He was predeceased by his grandparents Burton McColgan and Leandre Godin and his favorite kitties, Kitty Cabana, BooBoo, ReeRee, Mojo, Carl and Pacino.
A gathering of friends and family will take place at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road on Wednesday April 24, 2019 between the hours of 2-8 p.m. Allow your attire to be as comfortable as you wish as Brad loved his grey T-shirts and jogging pants as much as anyone.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or a charity of one’s choice.
Please keep in mind that there will be a stand-up comedy show held in his memory in the near future to support children’s programs with CMHA.
