Obituary of Betty Edna Barnes
Halifax, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2019, surrounded by family. Born in London, England she was a daughter of the late Gwyin and Winnifred.
She is survived by son, Thomas Albert (Victoria) and grandson, Colin; cousin, Anthony, UK; newly discovered sisters, Mavis and Evelyn, UK; nieces, nephews and cousins in NS and the UK. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Peter; son John Peter; sister, Shirley; brother, Raymond.
Thanks to Parkland Staff, and special friends at Parkland Elizabeth and Mary. Staff and doctors at 8-4. The family would like to send a special thank you to the “Girls” Donna, Debbie and Jackie Ryan for the weekly visits and friendship in the past year, making Betty’s days so much more enjoyable.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 6-8 PM. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 2PM in Emmanuel Anglican Church, Rev. Michelle Bull officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Emmanuel Anglican Church or SPCA.
