With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Edward Joseph Watson. Taken from us on Saturday, April 27th, 2019. Predeceased by his parents Mary Ellen and William Watson; mother and father-in-law John and Katie Tobin; sister Theresa; nephews: Terry, Graham and Shawn; brothers and sisters-in-law: Frank, Austin, Bern, Mike, Bernard (Noreen), Marg (Jimmy), Marie, Larry, Anita and Ruth. Special friend Terry Roberts. Leaving behind his loving wife and best friend, Ellen; sisters: Clara, Genevieve (Kevin) and Carmelita; brothers: Jerome (Mary), Ray (Mary), John (Geraldine), David (Bev) and Junior. Leaving to mourn his daughters Clarissa (Steve) and Tracey (Eamon); sons: Perry (Andrea), Corey (Jennifer) and Bob (Fran); 11 of his precious grandchildren who will miss him dearly Devin and Caitlin (Mom Cathy), Baylee, Felicia, Jackson, Isaac, Ella, Josie, Callum, Claire and Watson; brother-in-law Johnny (Anne); sisters-in-law: Anna (Andy), Patricia (Hubert), Emma (David) and Marg. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Leaving behind special buddies and cousins: Gerard, Gerry, Ron, Bernie, Eric, Rick, Rodney, Phil, Nick and special nephew Scott. Thank you to all his clients of Watson Petroleum Services over last 25 years.
Ed was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and true Newfoundlander. A passionate and soft-spoken man, full of love, wisdom and experience, always eager for a heart-warming conversation or to help someone in need. Ed was not only our rock, but he reached out and helped so many people. We can only hope those people will move forward and continue to help themselves and help others, this is what he would have wanted. Though the world will be a little darker without him we can take solace that when it’s our turn to be called up to heaven he will be waiting to welcome every one of us.
Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Wednesday and Thursday, May 1 & 2 from 12 – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Friday, May 3rd at 10:00 a.m. from St. Peters Parish, Mount Pearl. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations in Ed’s Memory may be made to Ronald McDonald House.
