Robert « Bob » Rogers
1946-2019
The death of Robert « Bob » Jon Rogers of Bristol occurred on
Saturday, March 9, 2019 at his home. Born August 3, 1946 in Bristol he
was the son of the late Maxwell and Dorothy (Clark) Rogers, he was
also predeceased by 2 nieces, Kim and Bobbi Jo.
In 1952 Bob at the age of 6 was diagnosed with polio. In 1958 he was
chosen « Timmy » for New Brunswick and toured the province
with wrestler « Wipper Billy Watson » to promote the Easter
Seals Campaign of that year. In the late 60’s Bob coached softball,
baseball and hockey, he also umpired in baseball and softball. In
later years bob was involved with the Bristol Fire Department, helping
where he could. He’ll always be remembered being seen at the
« Liar’s Bench » keeping a watchful eye on the village of
Bristol with his trusty 4 wheeler.
Bob is survived by his 5 siblings, Marilyn Elliott, Roy Rogers
(Carol), Ronnie Rogers (Norma), Peter Rogers and Donnie Rogers as well
as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207
Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from
6-8 pm. The interment will take place at a later date. Donations made
to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian
