Linda M. Leeman
1949-2019
Linda passed away peacefully with her loving family and
friends at her side on Friday, March 22, 2019 following a brief
illness.
Linda lived a rich and happy life as she was very close to
many friends and relatives. She took great pride in preserving her
family history, which was particularly reflected in her love of the
Leeman Homestead, circa 1784 in Upper Coverdale, the house that she
lived in was on the homestead and was constructed in
1847.
She was the daughter of Mae Steeves (Mesheau) and the late
Wallace Leeman. Besides her mother Mae, she is survived by sister Lori
Steeves, cherished nieces: Lilly and Hanna, as well as several uncles,
aunts, cousins, fur baby Lucy and dear friends from near and
far.
Linda retired from The Moncton Hospital in December 2004,
following a long career that she loved as a phlebotomist. She had
numerous interests including gardening, preserving, running her small
hobby farm, fishing and she had a love of all animals. An avid
collector of books, antiques and local history. Her community was
close to her heart, she was an Akela with the First Salisbury Cub Pack
for many years. Time spent with friends, attending movie nights,
breakfast meetings and dinners with the gang were truly special to
her.
Linda was a kind soul and touched many lives, yet she was
also very private and enjoyed a simple life. Honoring her wishes there
be no funeral service, however a celebration of her life will be held
in the early summer at the Leeman Homestead.
In lieu of flowers, Linda would want people to do something
kind for mother earth.
The arrangements are entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral
Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007).
