Lillian Welsh
1934-2019
February 15, 1934 … March 25, 2019
Passed away suddenly at Grand River Hospital … K-W Campus at the
age of 85 years. Lillian was born in Islington, Trinity Bay,
Newfoundland and immigrated to Halifax in 1944. She had many fond
memories of her childhood and enjoyed many friendships throughout her
life. She then moved to Toronto at age 16 where, in 1952, she married
her loving husband Robert James (deceased 2008). Proud mother of Linda
(Don), Brian (Grace), Gordon (Tiana) and Karen (Ian). Loving
grandmother to Heather (Doug), Keri-anne (Jay), Ryan, Erin (Brandon),
Daniel (Catherine), Tyler, Scott and Morgan (Aaron). Cherished great
grandmother to Matthew (Cassie), Montana, Sara, Lillian, Brayden,
Kameron and Logan. Great-great grandmother to Adeline and Revan.
Predeceased by her parents Edmund and Mabel Branton. The youngest
child and only sister to Roland, Norman, Charlie, Leonard and Robert
and survived by her brother Harrison. Loving sister-in-law and Aunt
Lil to many. She will forever be remembered for her sense of humor,
great friendships and most of all her devotion and love for her family
which she was so very proud.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in
April.
Special thanks to Dr. Gregor and staff at Grand River Hospital Renal
Department and staff and friends at Doon Village Retirement Residence
for their care and support over the last 3 years. In lieu of flowers,
