I n Loving Memory of Grace Mound
Mound (nee Scott), Grace peacefully passed away at home with loving family at her bedside in her ninety eighth year, March 19, 2019.
Beloved wife of Stanley Mound, predeceased 2005, and loving daughter Holly, predeceased 1998. Survived by daughters Bronwyn and Robyn, son Christopher and grandson Brad.
Born in Ottawa, grew up in Simcoe, later studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
Grace was of resolute nature …one of her favourite sayings was « press on regardless ». She had an eclectic range of interests. Always interested in the arts, Grace was passionate about painting and very active with the Lynnwood Art Centre. Along with husband Stan she was
involved with Simcoe Little Theatre. She also had an avid desire for reading. For most of her life Grace lived on an orchard in a historical home which she later had designated a Heritage site in Norfolk County.
In her earlier years, Grace resided on a game farm with her husband Stan. During their seasonal breaks from farming Grace and Stan enjoyed time travelling together. Throughout her life, Grace exhibited an altruistic nature volunteering her time at Norfolk General Hospital.
A private funeral for immediate family will take place and internment will follow at a later date.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Grace may do so to the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
Online condolences may be made at the website of Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, Oakville Ontario.
She will be sorely missed……’modest and gentle of heart’
