Colin’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield on Monday, March 18, 2019 Colin Pond age 68 years of Badger’s Quay.
Colin was a man who loved his family and friends, his Grandchildren Rodney and Madison were his pride and joy. He was a strong willed man who fought a long and hard battle to stay with us. He spent most of this summer days painting his patio, tending his vegetable gardens and offloading boats. He spent his Autumn days out on the point picking berries. He was a fine soul, a kind hearted man and a friend to all. He loved to joke and always had a quick comeback when anyone tried to outdo him. He was never a man to sit still, if he didn’t have much to do, you would find him pacing the floors or doing his puzzles. Today we are sending him home, but keeping all his love and memories with us to hold onto, until we see him again.
Colin is predeceased by his parents Annie and George Pond; sister Diana Hounsell; brother Donald Pond.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Irene Pond (Goodyear); son Stephen of Badger’s Quay; daughter Crystal Hanlon (Tony) of Pool’s Island; grandchildren Rodney and Madison; brother Sandy Campbell (Sophie) of Inverness, Scotland; brother-in-law Frank Hounsell of St. John’s; sister-in-law Genny Pond of Badger’s Quay; several niece, nephews, and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made to The Family and decision of monetary disbursements will be made later.
