It is with great sadness that the family of Annie May Morrison, 96, of Lunenburg, announces her passing on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Gabarus Lake, Cape Breton, Annie was the daughter of the late Philip and Dolena (MacKay) MacDonald.
Annie was a faithful member of Central United Church, Lunenburg.
Annie is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Gurney, Lunenburg; Carol (John Mader), Centre; Elaine (Mark) Heisler, Big Tancook Island; Shirley (Ren) Ramroop), Timberlea; son, Lester (Sharon), Martin’s River; ten grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael, son-in-law, Murray Gurney; grandson, Cory Gurney, sister, Isabel Nickerson and a brothers, Archibald and Donald.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg with visitation on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and where a funeral service to celebrate Annie’s life will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. David Lutes, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central United Church or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
