Anna Lokun (Turjanica), daughter of the late Michael and Julia (Svida) Turjanica, passed away at Northridge Long Term Care in Oakville on Wednesday March 6, 2019 at the age of 92. Anna was born on January 1st, 1927 in the Carpathian Mountains in Czechoslovakia. She immigrated with her family at the age of 7 to Toronto where she was raised and where she met her late husband Nicholas Lokun. They moved to the Alderwood community of South Etobicoke in 1955 to raise their family and where Anna lived for 63 years, becoming well known by many in the neighbourhood. She is survived by her three children, Jean Lokun of Toronto, Larry Lokun (JoAnne) of Nanaimo BC, and Patricia Dempsey of Oakville. Proud grandmother of Nicole Dempsey and Julia Dempsey (James Robinson) all of whom she loved dearly. Anna will be remembered by her family, friends and neighbours for her unique sense of humour, her countless stories and her generosity. Those who knew Anna know she always preferred to give rather than receive and as per her wishes there will be no funeral service held. As she would often say, “To each his own”. Messages of Condolence may be left at RidleyFuneralHome.com.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Anna Lokun January 01 1927 March 06 2019..
