Agnes was born in Drinkwater, Saskatchewan April 25, 1925 – one of the youngest of a large Saskatchewan family. In her early 20’s she met the love of her life and then wed Peter Rolheiser in St. Walburg, SK in 1951. Shortly after, the two newlyweds moved to Edmonton to begin their lives together. Family was always first to Agnes and Peter, first born was beloved son Ronnie, followed by daughter Darlene. Agnes started her career at the 99th St. Dairy Queen in the mid 60’s where she proudly worked until retirement in the late 80’s. The care and pride she took in her kitchen was passed on to fellow employees and family alike – cleanliness was essential. Agnes also took pride in her title as Grandma Aggie with the arrival of her first grandchild, Cory which was followed by her little rosebud, Paulette.
Baking, painting ceramics, sewing, and cooking large family meals brought joy to her life. Her family remained her focus as she became a Great Grandma four times and enjoyed many special memories with all her family and friends. Agnes leaves her daughter, Darlene (Andy) Davidson; grandson, Cory (Kim) Davidson; granddaughter, Paulette (Sean) Buckley; great grandchildren, Calli and Ryan Davidson, Corbin and Teagan Buckley; sister, Rose Schlekewy; brother in-law, Wes Wortman; sisters-in-law, Rose (Vic) Kurjata and Dee Rolheiser; along with many nieces and nephews.
She is once again smiling as she has now been reunited with her husband of 62 years, Peter; son, Ronnie; sisters, Tilly (Albert) Lacerte, Betty (Jack) Ostertag, Kay (Paul) Nolin, Fay Wortman, Fred (Stancy) Schiller and several half and step sisters & brothers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Agnes led a full and happy life and our memories of Grandma Aggie will live on. We will miss you and all the love you gave to us. On March 24, 2019, Agnes Rolheiser of Red Deer passed away at the age of 93 years.
