Walter Percy Dean
Dean, Walter Percy, 80 – Truro. Passed peacefully away on February 5, 2019 in the Mira Long Term Care Facility, Truro. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late James and Lillian (Snow) Dean. Walter was a natural musician who played a variety of instruments. He loved his family. He also loved to dance, garden and spend time with his grandchildren at the family cottage in Barrachois. Walter was the owner/operator of Dean’s Esso Service Centre on the corner of Queen and Walker St., Truro. Walter was a life-long member of St. George’s Anglican Church, Bible Hill. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle (Johnson); daughter, Carla (Rick) Hepburn, Truro; son, Jody, Whistler, B.C.; sisters, Mae, Mary and Janet; grandchildren, Meaghan (Keith) Warwick, MacKenzie (Matthew) Vroom, Brandon (Emily Chapman) Hepburn. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Jeanette, Shirley and Ann; brothers, Daniel and Jim. Special thanks to the staff of The Mira for their loving care during his years of stay with them. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held in the spring in Lockerby Cemetery, Tatamagouche. If so desired, donations may be made to the Lockerby Cemetery, Tatamagouche or to a charity of choice.
