Thelma Jamieson
1928-2019
It is with sadness that we, the family, of Thelma
Grace (Hills) Jamieson announce the peaceful passing, surrounded by
family on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital
in Bathurst at the age of 90.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late
Carl and Inez (Jagoe) Hills.
She was the beloved wife of the late Everett A.
Jamieson.
She is survived by her five children, Laura (Ted
Lawson) of Miami Beach, USA, Stephen (Barb) of Fort MacMurray, AB,
Mary (Rick Larder) of Saint John, Stanley (Linda) and Charles
(Shirley) both of Bathurst. 11 grandchildren, 14
great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special friends,
Margaret and Walter Sealy.
Thelma is also survived by her sister Betty (Cliff)
Boyer of Saint John, Thomas (Connie) of Ottawa and sisters-in-law
Eleanor MacIntosh and Sybil Hills.
She was predeceased by brothers Charles and Robert
and a sister Joyce.
Thelma was a lifelong resident of
Bathurst. She was a very talented and creative lady who
dedicated much of her time, skills and gifts to her church, community
and family. She taught many people over the years how to quilt, knit,
preserve and can goods at home. She produced and gave away
many quilts, afghans, jams and pickles that have ended up worldwide.
She taught Sunday school, Junior Axillary and Girls
Axillary. She was a gift to many people as well as a
wonderful, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
The family would like to thank the staff at the
Foyer Doucet and the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional
Hospital, and a special thanks to all those who assisted her while she
still lived at home.
There will be no visitation or funeral service at
Thelma’s request. There will be a burial service
and a celebration of Thelma’s life at a future date in the
summer. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s
Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Thelma Jamieson 19282019..
