Obituary for Rebecca Deborah Sheppard
Sheppard, Rebecca Deborah (Becky), age 44, passed away, Monday, February 11th, 2019 peacefully in her home alongside her loving family in Oshawa, ON.
Becky was born on September 18th, 1974 in Scarborough, ON to parents Hedley and Ruby Thompson. She was married to husband, Jason Sheppard on July 8, 1995 and had two children; Jason Jr and Graham.
Becky joined the Sea Cadets at age 13 and was an Officer in the cadet core; Exeter. She was also a Commanding Officer of the Prince of Wales in Scarborough.
As those of her closest to her would know, Becky was an avid Harley Davidson lover and loved to ride on the back of her husband’s Harley. Her and Jason enjoyed many joyous bike rides throughout the years. She was also a member of the Durham Chapter of HOG (Harley Owners Group) since 2014.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Becky on Monday, February 18th, 2019 from 2-4pm at the Ajax Legion 111 Hunt St. Ajax, ON L1S 1P3. Jason has requested HOG vests to be worn. Conducting the celebration will be Officer Bill King; with a special tribute by Lynne Eibich.
Becky was predeceased by her grandparents; Mr. & Mrs. Hedley Thompson and Mr. & Mrs. Maxwell Chaytor.
She leaves to mourn, her loving husband Jason, her sons Jason Jr and Graham, her granddaughter Alexis, parents Hedley Jr and Ruby Thompson and her two very special fur babies; Harley and Davidson and extended family and friends.
A special thank you to the two amazing nurses, Julien and Elisha, who cared for Becky until her final day and her doctors; Dr. Freeman, Dr. McAllister and Dr. “B” who cared for Becky at Lakeridge Health Oshawa – Durham Regional Cancer Centre.
