It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Ruby Kathleen “Kaye” (Currie) Thompson, wife of the late Raymond Alexander Thompson, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019. Born February 8th, 1922, in Woodstock, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Gladys (Pryor) Currie.
Kaye worked for several years at the Woodstock Dairy, the drug store, and the telegraph office before moving to Saint John where she worked at Simms Brush Factory. After marrying Raymond, Kaye devoted her time to raising her family, as family was everything to her. Kaye was a devoted member of Silver Falls United Church. She loved gardening, knitting, doing crafts and puzzles, and in later years she enjoyed coloring.
Kaye is survived by her children; Raymond (Carole), Gayle Mosher, Philip (Sue), Paul, Lori Waller (Peter) and Randy (Kelley), 13 grandchildren; Derek, Jennifer, Chad, Stacy, Scott, Heather, April, Gary, Todd, Katie, Keith, Emily and Dana, and 18 great grandchildren; Liam, Emma, Peter, Zachary, Ryan, Ashly, Josh, Jamie, Matthew, Emma, Scott, Gage, Zefram, Arist, Cohen, Madison, Layla and Landon.
Along with her husband Raymond and her parents, Kaye was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Susan (Keating) Thompson, son-in-law Eric Mosher, infant grandson Alexander, as well as 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Kaye’s family would like to thank Home Care workers Brenda, Sue, Melanie, Celeste, Laura and Diane for taking such great care of our mother and enabling her to stay in her home. Also, a special thank you to Lori Thompson for her compassionate care as well.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held Tuesday from 2-5 & 6-8pm. A Celebration of Kaye’s Life will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 11am from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, memorial donations in Kaye’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, and Canadian Diabetes Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
