Peacefully, at St. Marys Memorial Hospital, St Marys, Ontario, Patricia Maureen Reid passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the age of 84. Pat was a long time resident of Seaforth, formally of Lobo, Ontario. She and her husband, Willis, owned the Lobo Family Restaurant for many years. After moving to Seaforth, Pat worked for many years at Seaforth Manor preparing delicious meals for the residents. She was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 598, Delaware and the Ladies Auxiliary. Pat fought and triumphed over breast cancer twice.
Predeceased by her husband Willis (1989) Pat will be lovingly remembered by her children Tracy (Roger) Dyer of Lobo, Tim (Jane) Reid of London, Jeff (Marie) Reid of Halifax and Jamie (Brenda) Reid of Mt. Brydges. Memories of a special grandma remain with grandchildren Kelly (Cam), Melissa (Shawn), Emily, Natalie, Nick, Zach and Alex along with great grandchildren Kieran, Addisyn, Chloe, Luke and Callan. Pat will also be fondly remembered by her brother Tim (Dorothy) Boyd of Vernon B.C., sister-in-law Anne Boyd of Manitoulin Island and many nieces and nephews. Pat will be missed by her canine friends Willow, Jada and Sky and her many feline friends that she cared for over the years. Along with her husband Willis, Pat is predeceased by her parents Harry Boyd and Charlotte (née Shwasse) Weir and her brothers Hal and Dennis Boyd.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to McGlynn Family Funeral Home (519-527-1390), 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth. Honouring Pat’s wishes, cremation will take place, with interment in the family grave in Carp, Ontario, at a later date.
The family extends sincere thanks to thank Pat’s neighbours Leo and Eileen Greidanus and the staff of Seaforth Community Hospital, for the care and kindness given to Pat over the years. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation, The Humane Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
