It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Veronica (Vi) Breau, wife of the late Allan Breau. She was a lifelong Resident of Chatham and more recently, of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home. Vi passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the age of 91, following a brief illness at Region 7 Hospital.
Vi was born on December 9, 1927 and was adopted by her parents Bella and Syvest Vautour. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She took great pride and joy in her extended family, and always looked forward to the visits and stories of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vi is survived by her children: James Breau (Judy) of Moncton, Margaret Clancy (Pat) of Miramichi, Gerard Breau (Micheline) of Miramichi, and Michael Breau (Alice) on Moncton. In addition to her immediate family she is also survived by grandchildren: Leah Goguen (Denis), Kyla Landry (Paul), Cindy Dwyer (Shawn), Shaun Clancy (Katerina, Derek Breau, Justin Breau, as well as eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Allan, granddaughter Sheryl, brothers- Anthony, Ernest, James and sisters- Martha, Mary, Hilda and Rosie.
Vi Breau is resting at Maher’s Funeral Home, 35 University Avenue, Miramichi, with visitation on Sunday February 24 from 2-4 and 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 11:00 am at Saint Michael’s Basilica Miramichi, N.B. with Fr Paul Doucet officiating.
