1923-2019
Marjorie E.
McCarthy, 95, of K. E. Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of Boundary
Creek. Born in Steeves Mountain to Henry and Alberta (Goddard)
O’Blenis, she left this world on Tuesday, February 19,
2019.
Mom was a
loving wife to Edward, a caring mother, always there for her six
children. A grandmother, great grandmother and great great
grandmother. She was a member of the former Boundary Creek Baptist
Church.
She is
survived by her daughters, Bernice Sherwood (James) of Berry Mills and
Joan Smith (Brian) of Salisbury; sons, David (Jean) of Moncton and
George of Boundary Creek. Also by many grandchildren, great and great
great grandchildren. Survived by sister, Ida Harper of Anagance;
brothers, George O’Blenis (Ruth) of Boundary Creek and
Hubert O’Blenis (Janette) of Mississauga, ON; as well as
several nieces, nephews and extended family
members.
In addition
to her parents, Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Edward J.
McCarthy (1985); youngest daughter, Sandra (1975) and eldest daughter,
Laura (1998). Also, sisters, Florence MacDonald, Ethel McNutt and Cora
MacDougall and brother, Raymond
O’Blenis.

to Truleigh Country Manor and Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home for the
years of care given Mom when we could no longer look after
her.
Resting at
Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on
Friday, February 22, 2019 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, followed immediately
by a Service to celebrate and honour Marjorie’s life at 1:00
pm in Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Don MacDougall
officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following
the service. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial
Gardens.
