ROBERTS, Lawrence Douglas Jr. – age 63, of Kemptville Yarmouth Co., N.S. passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 7, 2019 at home in Kemptville. Born in Yarmouth on August 7, 1955 he was a son of the late Lawrence D. Roberts, Sr. and Lina P. (Greene) Roberts. Lawrence was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly. In his earlier years he worked at Cooks Dairy, the Tin Mine, was owner/operator of the Kemptville Corner Store, and lastly worked at CASSA Office Plus for almost 25 years. He was an avid sports fan and a lover of all things Toronto – the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs included. A proud grandfather, Lawrence loved to watch Olivia skate and to give Hudson and Drew rides on his tractor. A jack of all trades, he was known to tinker on many things and enjoyed working on his motorcycle. He was always busy doing something. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Judy Roberts; daughters, Jessica Roberts (Dave McCall), Yarmouth; Jennifer (Adam) d’Entremont, Pleasant Lake; sons, Jeremy Roberts, Kemptville; Kyle Roberts (Jeff Barr), Deerfield; sisters, Pat (Harvey) Mood, Kemptville; Miriam (John) Gillis, Carleton; and 3 grandchildren, Olivia, Hudson, and Drew. Besides his parents Lawrence was predeceased by his nephew Craig Mood. Cremation has taken place under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 15th at the South Ohio Community Center, 307 Lake George Road, from 2 to 4 pm. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Kemptville at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Kemptville Fire Department or a charity of your choice.
