Jim Sasaki February 16 2019

Jim passed away peacefully at the Grey Nuns Hospital from cancer. He is survived by siblings Ken, Kay and Bob. Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife Doris; children Janis (Gary Evans), Tracey (Scott Watkins), Doug (Alison Longmore), Greg; and grandchildren David, Elizabeth, Jessica, Isabelle, Rui, Cody and Frisco.
Dad was born in Mission, BC and was moved with his family to southern Alberta (Taber area) during World War 2. Jim moved to Edmonton in 1957 where he and Doris raised their family.
He believed in advancing his education for the benefit of his family. While mom and dad raised their family, dad went back to school to get his high school diploma, power engineer and millwright certification. Dad worked in the oil industry as a welder/heavy duty mechanic on drilling rigs throughout Alberta, drilling ships and man-made islands in the Beaufort Sea. In 1998 he retired as a millwright in Edmonton where he maintained the mechanical equipment and was the engineer for the Klondike Day Train.
In retirement, dad followed his passions: fishing and watching Oilers hockey. He was a member of the Old Timers Fishing Club in Edmonton and loved to take his grandchildren fishing.
Dad has requested that there be no service.

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Jim Sasaki February 16 2019..
