With a deep sense of sorrow and loss, our family announces the passing of our husband, father, brother, son, grandson, and nephew Jared Grant Dillon Carmichael on February 23rd, 2019 at the age of 36 following a valiant 16 month battle with cancer. Jared will be lovingly remembered as a prankster who was full of kindness and a love for knowledge. He was an inspiration to everyone, always finding ways to brighten the day of those around him, even as he struggled with his illness.
Jared will be forever remembered by his devoted wife and best friend Allison Carmichael (nee Da Cruz Wong), his beautiful daughter Harper Carmichael (2 yr) , brother James Carmichael, mother Marsha Carmichael, grandmother Alicemae Abbott, Aunt Karen Carmichael (Mike Edwards), Uncle Greg Carmichael (Elizabeth), Uncle Scott Carmichael, mother-in-law Susy Wong, father-in-law Roberto Da Cruz, brother-in-law Ryan Da Cruz Wong, sister-in-law Anai Da Cruz Wong, cousins Robert, Matthew, Leighton and Christopher, niece Ariana, and nephews Freeman, Xavier,and Brio. Jared is predeceased by his brother Wyatt Benjamin Lewis (Leigh), his nephew Tristan Lewis and his Uncle Brent Carmichael. Along with his close family and friends, Jared was very thankful for his hospitality family and all the support they brought to him and his family throughout his battle with cancer.
There will be a public viewing on Tuesday February 26th, 7:30-9:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home 5311-91 Street, Edmonton Ab. Please join us in A Celebration of Life for Jared at Ottewell Community Hall, 5920 93A Avenue Edmonton AB on Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 at 6:00 PM . Appetizers and refreshments will be provided. Please bring your fun memories of a life lost far too soon.
