Jane Marie Anderson
1958-2019
It is with profound sadness that the family of
Jane Anderson announce her passing on Friday, February 22, 2019 at
home after a lengthy illness with family by her side. Born in New
Glasgow on March 31, 1958. She was the daughter of the late Alonzo
« Al » and June (MacCormack) Legere. Jane was employed
as a secretary at Goodman’s; owned and operated
Payleen’s Lingerie; was an employee of Ross’
Ladies Wear and was retired from TanJay at the Highland Square Mall.
She was a member of the former Christ the King Roman Catholic Church
Trenton where she served on the Parish Council and was a member of the
Divine Mercy Prayer Group. Until her illness, Jane was an avid walker
and enjoyed an active lifestyle. She is survived by her husband,
Roddie; son, Matthew, Halifax; grandson, Jake Alonzo Hardy; sister,
Eileen (Vernon) Stinson, New Glasgow; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Joe)
Spinelli, Arizona; Cathy (Greg) MacGillivray, Trenton; Muriel
Anderson, Trenton, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by
her brother, Paul. We would like to thank all who supported Jane
throughout her illness, Dr. Chris Elliott, Dr. James Bentley and his
team, Dr. Anne Kwasnik and Dr. Gerry Farrell. We wish to thank the
very caring staff of the Oncology Dept. at the Aberdeen Hospital and
VG; the Aberdeen Palliative Care Coordinators, Rachel MacDonald,
Rhonda Langille and Debbie Williams; nurses in the Aberdeen Palliative
Care Unit and the VON Care Unit. Visitation will be held 2-4 pm and
7-9 pm Tuesday, in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 73 High St., Trenton.
Funeral mass 2 pm Wednesday in Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic
Church, New Glasgow, with Fr. Tom MacNeil officiating. Reception to
follow. Burial will be in Christ the King Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care
Society or the SPCA.
