Henry Newcombe Birch
1923-2019
The death occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of
Community Hospital, O’Leary on Friday, February 8, 2019 of
Henry Newcombe Birch of Northam aged 95, husband of the late Laura
(Dyment) Birch. Henry was born in Birch Hill on August 21, 1923, Son
of the late Percy & Enid (Newcombe) Birch.
Cherished father to Anna (Late Ross) Millar, Medicine Hat,
AB; Edith (Ralph) Carruthers, Schurmans Point, North Bedeque and Kevin
(Hazel) Birch, Birch Hill.
Loving grandfather to Rob (Kathy
Hubley), Halifax; Devan (Stephanie West), Halifax; Lindsay , Birch
Hill; Corbin (Rebecca), Summerside and Kirsten, Birch Hill. Great
grandfather to William and MacLauchlan Carruthers.
Dear brother to Edith (late Leith) MacLean, BC; Dorothy (late
Roland) MacLean, Charlottetown; Mary (Hazen) Ramsay, Summerside;
Ernest (Bernice) Birch, Summerside.
Henry is also survived by sisters in law Joyce (late Kelvin)
MacLennan, Port Hill and Edith (late Edmund) Crawford,
Halifax.
Henry was predeceased by his parents, wife Laura (1984),
daughter Catherine in infancy and brother Edmund.
Resting at Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel, with visiting
hours Monday from 4-7 pm Funeral service on Tuesday at 12 pm at the
St. James Anglican Church.
Interment in the spring in the
St. James Anglican Church Cemetery.
Brethern of Alexander Lodge # 5 Port Hill will hold a Masonic
service for their late brother Monday at 7:00pm
