GIllis, Marjorie Elizabeth (Veinot) age 82 of Dartmouth has passed away peacefully surrounded by members of her family at Oakwood Manor on December 24 2018. Her Birthday It was a wonderful day for Marjorie to be born so the Lord choice that day for her to return home to her waiting family. Marjorie is survived by her sisters Margaret Chisholm Pictou and Deborah Sack Truro and Brother Lenard Corkum Sackville NB. Also survived by her loyal life long friend and sister in law Edna Gillis St Clements Parish. Many nieces and nephews will miss her kindnesses. Aunt Marjorie never forget any of their birthdays and was famous for her delicious squares and birthday fudge. Marjorie was born in Pictou and after graduating from Pictou Academy she travelled to Dartmouth to begin work at DND where she met and married her husband of over 55 years Jim. Marjorie was predeceased by her only child Scott Andrew in 2010 and Husband James Henry Gillis in 2017. She was also predeceased by her loving grandmother Veinot, Uncle Lenard Venoit and mother Janie Corkum. A deeply spiritual woman Marjorie was a long time member of St Clements Parish, Dartmouth. Marjorie was a caregiver by nature and spent her life as a committed and devoted mother and wife to Scott and Jim. A caring and loving friend to all her family. Marjorie followed the worlds accomplished figure skaters never missing a championship event. She enjoyed bowling and skating but her favourite pastime was curled up with a cup of tea and a good book. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and keeping up on everyone’s accomplishments. The family wishes to thank the staff and especially Doctor Moriarity of unit C Oakwood Manor for the love and great care they gave to Marjorie over the last four years. A mass of celebration will be held at St Clements Church on Wednesday January 2 at 10 am. Father Gerald David officiating. Internment to follow at Mt.
