Linda « Cheryl »‘s Obituary
Carter, Linda “Cheryl” – 74, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Monday, January 7, 2019 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton after a brief illness. Born in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late William and Bernice (Melvin) Lunergan. As a military spouse, Cheryl lived in Ottawa, Prince George BC, Gagetown and Chatham NB, and again in Ottawa. She worked as a caregiver for Retire At Home, in Ottawa for ten years where she brought dignity and quality care to many clients including Cliff Chatterton, Founder and President of the War Amps. Cheryl was an active member in the Kingston United Baptist Church where she was President of the Social and Benevolent Club. She loved to crochet, bake, sew, and entertain. Lovingly known as Nanny Cheryl to over 20 children at Miss Kim’s, she made afghans for each and every one. Cheryl leaves behind a loving husband of 54 years Frederick Carter; daughter Kim (Mark) Kilburn, Wilmot; grandsons Christopher and Nathan Kilburn; sister Sandra Friars, Saint John, NB; many much loved nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and many friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son Todd and brother Douglas Lunergan. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00pm Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Kingston United Baptist Church, Rev. Barbara Bishop officiating, with a reception for family and friends to follow in the church hall. The family would like to thank all of the Doctors and Nurses and especially Dr. Paul MacLean for his caring and dedicated manner.
