CORMIER, Joseph Lawrence
It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of
our loving son, brother and uncle, Joseph Lawrence Cormier (62) of Sydney. He
passed away peacefully at home with his loving mother by his side.
Lawrence was born May 25, 1955 and was the eldest son of Rhoda and the late
Lawrence Cormier.
Lawrence was born into a loving family of five siblings. Left to mourn are his
brothers, David (Tracey), Brad (Mary), sister Shirley (Wayne).
Lawrence didn’t have children but thought of his special nieces and nephews like
they were his own. Lawrence had a special bond with his brother-in-law, Donnie
Smith, who was always there when he needed him. Also left to mourn are special
neighbors and friends, Debbie and Leo Oliver.
Lawrence was a kind man who always loved a good laugh and great
conversations. He enjoyed playing the lottery, a good game of Bingo and he never
missed watching CNN.
Lawrence was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Cormier; his beautiful and
beloved sister, Donna Smith; his paternal grandparents, Beatrice (Mama) and
James Cormier and Annie May and Joseph Sampson.
The family would like to thank Dr. Archibald for his excellent care over the years.
A special thank you to the EMS staff and CBRM Regional Police for their kindness
and compassion shown to our family.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of S.W.
