Obituary of John Burd
John Frederick Burd passed away peacefully at QHC-Belleville General Hospital on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in his 90th year. Son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Burd. Husband of the late Monica (nee Brennan) Burd. Loving father of Robert (Karen) Burd of Oakville and Beverly Freeman (Sam Dall) of Belleville. Predeceased by his son-in-law, Gerard Freeman. John is remembered by his grandchildren, Sarah (Keith) Yasinchuk of Sudbury and Brendan Burd of Oakville and by his dear friend Irene Kraick of Belleville. He is survived by his sister Helen Reid of Belleville and predeceased by his brothers, Bruce and Francis Burd. The family extend their gratitude to the staff of Quinte 5 at BGH for their compassion and care. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 169 North Park Street, on Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with the family receiving friends at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment to follow at St. James Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel (613-968-2273). If desired, Memorial Donations to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
