Joan Marilyn Barnard (Tanner)
January 22, 2019
of Halifax passed away in her own home having spent her final months in the company and care of her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a daughter of the late Jack and Lydia (Travers) Tanner. Joan was raised in Rockingham on her family farm and to the end, those days remained some of her fondest memories. She attended Mount St. Vincent Girls School and Queen Elizabeth High School. Was employed as a secretary for McDermaid Insurance Agencies and hand in hand with her husband building their own business. She met her husband in her teens and they built an amazing life together. Like many of their generation they weathered the ups and downs of life as partners, committed to each other’s happiness. Dancing, world cruises and enjoying their many friends together were her passions second only to raising and caring for her family. On any day no matter what the situation if you asked her how she was, you would always be answered with a smile and « I’m fine ». She will be missed. Survived by Stillman « Tim », Todd (Magda), Ken (Janet), Timothy Barnard, Brooke (Nyron) Ali, along with her grandchildren Lauren, and Scott Barnard, Kayden and Nolan Ali. Predeased by her sister Barbara Petrie Memorial service to be arranged.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Joan Marilyn Barnard Tanner January 22 2019..
