Obituary of Herbert Broom
BROOM: Peacefully, at Exeter Villa Nursing Home, Exeter, on Saturday, January 26, 2019, Herbert Broom, formerly of Crediton, age 86. Beloved husband of the late Shirley May (Wood) Broom (1994). Loved father and father-in-law of Herb and Alice Broom of Exeter, David Broom and Nina Fizzard of Crediton, Richard Broom, Debbie and Bill Clark all of London, Tammy and Dan Wurm of RR 3, Dashwood, Gary Broom of London and Jason Monette of Orangeville. Herb will be remembered by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families. He will also be remembered by Shirley’s family. Dear brother-in-law of Marie Broom of Exeter. Predeceased by his parents Herbert and Ellen (Musgrave) Broom, brother Ken Broom, sisters June and Bert Borland, Shirley and Lloyd Ferguson. Herb bequeathed his body to the School of Medicine, Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Western Ontario. Cremation will follow. A Celebration of Herb’s Life will be held at the Crediton Community Centre, Crediton, date and time to be announced. Arrangements entrusted to T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
