It is with profound sadness that the family of Henrikas Butkevicius announces his passing on December 31, 2018 in his 97th year, surrounded by his loved ones. Beloved husband of Zofia (d. 2010). Dearest father of Nijole Cherkas (Andrew) and Rita Bobyk (Orest). Most loving Granddad to Pauline (Andrew), Joseph (Sarah), Chris (Candice), Daniel, Alexander (Danielle) and Steven. Cherished Great Granddad to Cathy, Bryan, Aiden, Liam, Abigail and Annabell. Fondly remembered by his extended family in Lithuania. Dad was a man of incredible faith, intellect, creativity and tireless work ethic. He was at his happiest breaking the lake’s morning stillness with the cast of a fishing line, enjoying his grandchildren and great grandchildren at the cottages, tending to his gardens or quietly creating another exquisite wood carving in his workshop. Dad’s immeasurable kindness, generosity and love for his family and friends will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in peace in God’s mercy and loving embrace. Visitation to commence Friday January 4, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 at Courtice Funeral Chapel (1587 Hwy #2, Courtice). Prayers to begin at 7 P.M. A mass of Christian burial will take place Saturday January 5, 2019 at 11 A.M. Lithuanian Martryr’s Catholic Church, Mississauga (2185 Stavebank Rd, Mississauga).
