1920-2019
Gerard R.
Dumelie, 98 years of age, of Amherst, passed away
peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Cumberland Regional
Health Care Centre. Born in Regina, SK, he was a son of the late
Honore & Pauline (Lacey) Dumelie.
Gerard was a Veteran of WW II, serving
with RCAF in Canada. He owned and operated Springhill Auto
Supples. He was a member Holy Family Parish. He enjoyed
snowmobiling, boating and traveling south to Florida every
year.
Gerard will be sadly missed by
daughter-in-law, Jeanette Teed; grandchildren,Tammy & Lisa
(Rob) Beckwith and great grandchildren, Christopher and
Ashley, great great grandson, Dalton, great great granddaughter,
Aliyah-Lynn, friend Pearl Crowley; sister in law Lillian Cormier
(Gerald), many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased
by his wife, Inez, step son Roy and several siblings.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home,
70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). No visitation by request. A
memorial service will be held at Holy Family Parish on
Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Deacon Howard Gotell
officiating. Burial to take placei n the Holy Rosary Cemetery,
Sackville at a later date.
Should friends desire, memorial
contributions may be made to Palliative Care. Sharing of memories and
