Hinschberger, Daniel Simon
Peacefully passed away at Nipissing Manor on January 29, 2019 in his 92nd year. Daniel was born in St. Clements, Ontario to the late Frances and Alexander Hinschberger. Dan was married 65 years to his love, best friend and companion Geralda (nee Conrad). Proud father of 8 children, all born in Niagara Falls: Susan, Harley, Cheryl (Guy Armstrong), Lorna, Joan-predeceased (Andy Wilson), Ann (John Loyst), Hugh and Dale (Dave Webster). Loving grandfather to Christian, Riley, Veronica, Morgan, Chelsey, Samantha, Katrina, Casey, Graham, Sarah, Garrett, Brooke, Blake, Nadia, Elissa, Allison, Brett, Jacklyn, Clark and great-grandfather to 6 and counting. Dan was the eldest and last surviving of 8; Mildred, Jerome, George, Joseph (Georgette), Lucille, Ronald (Jan) and Paul. He will be lovingly remembered by his Conrad in-laws; Rita Valiquette, Alma Micus, Lorne (Grace), Maurice (Yvonne), Lloyd, Walter (Brenda), Desmond (Claudette) and Stephen (Elaine). Predeceased by Mervyn (Monica), Louise and Clarence. Dan retired from his 35-year career with Ontario Hydro. He was a scout leader, 3rd degree knight with KoC and a deacon at Holy Name of Jesus Church; all of which enriched his life, while allowing him to enrich others. Family will be receiving visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Friday February 1st, 2019 from 10 am until 12 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus on Friday at 12:30 pm. Cremation to follow with interment in the spring at Sacred Heart Cemetery (Trout Creek). Donations in Dan’s memory can be made to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation or the Gathering Place. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to ALL staff at Nipissing Manor for their compassion, professionalism and expert care of Dan.
