Covert Lester Huntley
1922-2019
Covert Lester Huntley – age 96, of Scott’s Bay,
Kings County, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 in the Valley
Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Scott’s Bay, he was a
son of the late Ozrow and Maude (Webb) Huntley. He had been employed
on various farms before working at various plants throughout the area.
He retired from the maintenance department of the Annapolis Valley
Regional School Board. He enjoyed feeding the birds, woodworking and
making signs, especially comical signs. In addition to his parents, he
was predeceased by his wife, Emily (Steele); three sisters, Reverend
Vesta (Percy) Legge, Abbie (Welsford) Arnold and Geraldine Banks and a
brother, Wilbur « Mick ». He is survived by two
sisters, Norma (the late Earl) Ferguson, Sackville and Gwen (the late
Phillip) Huntley, Scott’s Bay; a brother, James (Doris),
Centreville; a brother-in-law, John Banks, Shubenacadie; several
nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday,
January 15, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where
the funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January
16, 2019. Burial will take place at a later date in the
Scott’s Bay Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the
Scott’s Bay Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been
entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
