Colleen McRae
Born April 10, 1929 in Vancouver and passed away peacefully January 13, 2019. Family meant everything to Colleen and she was truly the heart of our clan. We will always miss her and remember her loving care and concern for all of us. Colleen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and auntie. Pre-deceased in 2017 by her loving husband of 70 years, Murray, they are reunited at last. She is survived by daughter Linda Cann (Ron), son John (Sean), grandsons Ron Cann (Rani) and Steve Cann (Joanna); five great grandchildren Maxime and Luka in New Westminster, Jackson, Colby and Owen in Kelowna; and her brother Dick Barber (Pat) also of Kelowna. Colleen was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She loved meeting people and was genuinely interested in their lives and well being. She had a warmth and gentleness that made everyone feel at ease. Colleen did office work and after retirement volunteered with the Red Cross and Ronald McDonald House. Colleen and Murray enjoyed travelling by car and on cruises as well as leisure time with family at Black Mountain Ranch. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the New Westminster Kiwanis Care Centre for their unparalleled care over the past 18 months. For those who wish to attend, there will be a brief graveside service at 1pm at Ocean View Cemetery in Burnaby on Friday, January 25th. All are welcome at 2pm, January 25th for a Memorial Tea at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby. www.oceanviewfuneral.com
