OBITUARY
Wladyslawa (Tomera) Palangiewicz
May 8, 1934 – October 12, 2018
Peacefully, with the guided spirit of our Heavenly Father, Wladyslawa (Ada) courageously departed from our lives.
Born in Poland, Wladzia always so vividly and proudly spoke passionately of her family’s early years. The War uprooted her parents and all 8 siblings to Germany, and her experiences evoked a remarkable biography of strength and courage which she pursued to the end.
In June 1953, at 19 years of age, Wladzia arrived in Montreal and fell in love with her new home. At a New Years Eve event on Prince Arthur St. in 1954, she laid eyes on a gentleman and proclaimed that he was the one she would marry. Exactly one year later Wladzia married this love of her life Wiktor Palangiewicz, a marriage of everlasting devotion for 57 years. Sadly, Wiktor’s departure in 2012 left a sorrowful void in her heart, but her spirit never lost its passion.
Proudly as they raised their 4 children, Wladzia mournfully witnessed the untimely death of her eldest son, Richard, in 1999. She now leaves behind her 3 loving children (Mary, Helen, Edward), 7 beloved grandchildren (Peter, Krysia, Ola, Cassandra, Jonathan, Catherine, James) and 2 precious greatgrandkids (Devon, Kayla), as well as her son in law (David) and daughter in law (Donna). Her many friends and family brought her much joy and she loved lengthy conversations with everyone she met.
A proud Polish Canadian, Wladzia spent most of her career in fashion, a passion she so elegantly carried. Sophisticated and classy, she adored beauty in all forms. Her love of flowers, children, romance, history, music and dance, are all reminders of how she embraced life with this continuous passion. Smart, witty, and proud were some of her remarkable virtues.
Sincere thanks and overwhelming gratitude is extended to West Island Pallative Residence (Stillview). A dedicated, caring staff whose devotement to Mom and support for the family was truly godsend.

Visitation will be held at Centre Funeraire Cote-des Neiges (4525 Cote des Neiges) on Wednesday, Oct 17 from 4-9pm, Thursday, Oct 18 from 2-5pm, and 6-9pm, with a rosary at 8pm. Funeral Mass at St Michael’s Parish (105 St. Viateur W) on Friday, October 19 at 10 am. Procession to follow at cemetery Cote des Neiges
