Willis, husband of the late Justine (Benoit) Rickard, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Willis was born in Hartland on March 6, 1937; son of the late George and Lottie (Lawrence) Rickard. He retired from Irving Pulp and Paper in 1992. He was a 3rd degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council #8364, and a member of the Canadian Paperworkers Union. Willis is survived by his sons Paul (Lynn) and Andrew (Linda), daughter Nancy Button (Darrell), brother Clinton (Willa) of Hartland, grandchildren April, Michael, Jeffrey, Alaina, Jordan and Jonathan, 9 great-grandchildren as well as special friend Diane Button. Along with his wife Justine, his daughter Linda Lee, and his parents, Willis was pre-deceased by brothers Paul, Allison, Frank, and Archie, as well as sisters Florence Bonnar, Leila Sherman, Kathleen Hayes, Nellie Johnston and his best buddy Caesar. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from Stella Maris Catholic Church, Bayside Drive on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Saint John Regional Hospital – Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
