William Stewart Morash

Morash, William (Bill) Stewart, passed away quickly, as he would have wanted, on September 22nd in the Halifax Infirmary. Bill was the son of the late Maynard and Doris (Glazebrook) Morash. He was born at home in Eastern Passage on April 6th, 1939 and lived in that community for his entire life. Bill was an electrician by trade since 1958 and the proud owner of “Morash Electric”, which he opened in 1962. He was very well known and respected due to his reputation in his community and business. He could easily trace the relation to him of anyone who originally hailed from Eastern Passage. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger days and became an amazing gardener, where his neighbours and friends got to enjoy the rewards. He would share his gardening wisdom with anyone who needed it. Bill was friendly and outgoing. He loved to share stories, reminisce and joke with people. Although he came off gruff at times, he would do anything for anyone. He could be found almost anytime at a coffee shop hanging out and talking to anyone who would sit and listen. He gave generously of himself, his time and money to his community of Eastern Passage and many worthy causes. Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol (Jewers), son, Scott and daughter, Cindy, all of Eastern Passage. Also surviving are sisters Thelma (John) Knudsen, and Carol Morash, nieces Cathy (Donnie) Negus, Colleen (Perry) Giberson, and nephews, Terry Morash (Heather), Gregg Knudsen (Tanya) and Erick Knudsen, several great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins , brother-in-law, Leith Graham and sister-in-law, Marie Morash. Aside from his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Graham and brother, Edison. A big “Thank You” to all the staff who took care of Bill in his final hours. Arrangements are currently incomplete, and will be updated when finalized.
