GORDON; William Peter
Peacefully, with family by his side at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital on Friday, May 25, 2018. Much loved son of Olive Gordon and the late John(1993). Loving father to Jennifer(Scott) Miller of Markdale, and David(Amber) Gordon of Bracebridge. Greatly missed by grandsons Samuel and Joseph. Loved and remembered by siblings Thelma(Donald) Colgan of Flesherton, Bruce Gordon of Eugenia, Maisie and May Gordon both of Singhampton and Leonard Gordon of Singhampton. Peter will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his dear friend Holly Ebdell.
Peter was an avid outdoors-man. He loved hunting and fishing, and the amazing time that it gave him to spend with his son. His favourite places to fish were at Lake Rosseau and Lake Joe in Northern Ontario. The peaceful quiet and beauty of nature kept him returning there for the past 12 years. Peter worked at Pilkington glass for 26 years, before a foot injury forced him to retire young. Although he went through some tough times, he managed to persevere, even making many life long friends along the way. Peter looked at each day as a new one and tried very hard not to look back.
The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, 1 Highland Drive, Flesherton, on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 10am until the time of the service at 11am. Reception to follow at the Maxwell Community Centre. Interment Ebeneezer Cemetery, Clearview Township. Donations would be gratefully accepted by the Canadian Cancer Society or the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital.
