Peacefully after a brief illness William Paul McKay passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday May 24,2018.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Catherine of 54 years;son Howard; daughters Roslyn, and Leandra;sister-in-laws Victoria Turtle,Shirley Fisher,Mary McKay,Lena Franklin, and Blanche McKay; numerous nieces,nephews,cousins,and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Jim and Nina McKay;mother-in-law Catherine Beatrice Fisher;sisters Mary Ann McKay, and Doris Orvis; brothers Alex,Arnie,Elias,and Cecil McKay;Sister-in-laws Irene McKay,and Alma Green;brother-in-laws Alex Turtle,and David Poershki.
He was a fisherman,trapper,pulp wood cutter, fire ranger, and security guard for Miskooseepi School for 20 years. What he loved most was working for the church, where he served for 25 years at services every Sunday. He enjoyed travelling, and spending time with his family, and friends.
Wake service will be held on Tuesday May 29,2018 from 7: 00p.m. till 12Midnight at Eternal Grace Funerals 1111Logan Ave. Wake services will continue Wednesday May 30,2018 and Thursday May 31,2018 at the Bloodvein Band Hall. Funeral service will follow on Friday June 1,2018 at 1:00p.m. also from the Band Hall. Interment family residence Bloodvein First Nation.
The family would like to thank the staff of the H.S.C,and Seven Oaks Hospital for all their care. Special thanks to the Chief and Council of Bloodvein First Nation for all their help and support during this difficult time.
