William « Mike » Michael Witzaney

October 5th, 1959 – September 17th, 2018.
Mike was born in Lloydminster Alberta, then moved with his family to Victoria. He spent many years living and working in the Cowichan Valley, with Shawnigan Lake being his home.
Mike is survived by the love of his life Connie; daughters Jamie (Eric Farmer), Jody, and Lindsay (Ben Maxwell); sons Tim (Leslie) and Miles; grandchildren Dakota, Emily, Dallas, Evan, Alex, Cohen and Bentley; sisters Irene and Kathy; brothers Bob (Teri), Pete (Pam) and Ron (Lynn); nieces and nephews Connel, Dean, Les, Kyle, Tory, Brooke, Steve, Tyler, Kelsey, Jesse and their families. He was pre-deceased by his parents Irene and Pete, brothers Ted and Ken, nephew Calvin and brother-in-law James.
Mike will always be remembered as a “larger than life” kind of guy who took great joy in being a father and even more joy in being a grandfather. His laugh was truly infectious and could fill the room. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, September 21st, 2018 from 1 pm to 3 pm in the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 375 Brae Rd, Duncan. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, 3295 Cobble Hill Rd., Cobble Hill followed by interment in Shawnigan Community Cemetery, 1825 Munsie Rd, Shawnigan Lake. A reception will be held later that afternoon, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Cow Café located at 1681 Cowichan Bay Rd, Cowichan Bay. Please join the family to share your memories of Mike.
