William Edward Bill Leggette 1940 2018

Obituary of William Edward Leggette
It is with great sadness that the family of Bill (William Edward) Leggette bring news of his passing on Sunday, June 3rd, 2018, at his happy place: the barn.
Bill was the loving husband of Marie (nee Parry) Leggette for 57 years; father to Joe, Mark, Michele, Heather and Scott; father-in-law to Rana, Mary-Lynne, Paul, Rob and Lisa; grandfather to Cody, Kailey, Rory, Brooke, Cole, Kelsey, Lane, Emily, Hannah, Bailey, Josée, Phoebe, Carter and Quinn.
Bill retired in 2003 to make time for his increasingly busy life: spending time with his 14 grandchildren; playing guitar and singing every Wednesday afternoon with the « girls », and any chance he got; swimming twice a week at the Jack Burger Recreation Centre; volunteering with the Kendal Lions Club; breaking and training horses; attending rodeos; and building everything from rec rooms to houses.
Bill travelled to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in April, got his most recent gold medal in swimming on May 24th, volunteered at the Lion’s breakfast Sunday morning, then went to the barn Sunday afternoon to work on his most recent carpentry project, where he passed away.
Thank you to the firefighters of the Garden Hill Station and police officers who responded to the 911 call.
The family invites Bill’s relatives and friends to a Celebration of Life to be held this Friday, June 8, from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Port Hope Lions Recreation Centre, 29 Thomas Street, Port Hope, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Kendal Lions Club or a charity of your choice.

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de William Edward
