MCGUIRE, William “Bill” D’Arcy
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the age of 88. Loving husband of Edith (nee Asztalos) for over 60 years. Beloved father to Colleen Anne. Dear grandfather to Charlie. Brother to Connie Mathieson (the late Neil) and Fran Windischman (the late Dez). Predeceased by parents William Andrew “Andy” and Mary Constance “Connie” (nee Pitt), by his siblings Theresa, Joseph, and Mary (Haisman). Bill was also predeceased by his cousin Peggy DesRosiers Bennett who passed away on October 24th, 2018. Survived by sister-in-law Elvina Kaszas (late William Kaszas), brother-in-law Jim Haisman and by many nieces and nephews. Bill attended Assumption High School and Assumption College. He was a proud member of the HMCS Hunter, he loved sailing the Great Lakes particularly as a crew member of the SS Noronic. A lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus and a long time parishioner and reader at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Bill, along with his father Andy, helped build and name the Sunshine Point Camp on Lake Erie for the Kiwanis Club. A special thank you to the staff at Chartwell Oak Park LaSalle for their compassionate care. Family and Friends are invited to gather at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 834 Raymo Rd., Windsor on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 for a Visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
